The SIA Trainer Course Package is a bundled programme designed to help you progress into a professional trainer role within the security industry. It combines the core teaching qualification, the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, with specialist delivery skills, the Level 3 Delivering Conflict Management and Level 3 Delivering Physical Intervention, so you can deliver SIA-relevant training confidently, safely, and to the expected standard.
?To deliver SIA courses, you need all three parts of this package, as they cover both the teaching qualification and the key SIA unit areas that sit inside the main licence-linked programmes.
This package includes three Level 3 qualifications:
Together, these qualifications build your ability to plan lessons, manage a classroom, assess learners, and deliver both theory and practical units in a way that is engaging, controlled, and aligned with industry expectations.
The SIA Trainer Course Package is ideal for people who want to step into, or progress within, a training role in the private security sector. It is designed for those who already have industry experience and now want to step into a trainer role with the confidence to deliver structured sessions and manage learners effectively.
This course is a good fit if you are:
When you complete the SIA Instructor Course Package, you will achieve three recognised Level 3 qualifications that work together to support SIA training delivery.
These qualifications support your ability to deliver training on popular security courses, including:
As a package, this route is designed to take you from having industry experience to being able to plan lessons, deliver structured sessions, manage learners, and confidently deliver both classroom and practical units to the expected standard.
To enrol on the SIA Trainer Course Package, you must have at least two years of frontline security experience within the last five years. This helps ensure you can relate the training to real workplace situations and deliver sessions with the right level of credibility and confidence.
If you are unsure whether your experience meets this requirement, contact our team and we will advise you before you book.
The SIA Trainer Course Package is made up of three Level 3 qualifications. All three are delivered in a flexible format, with most learning completed online at your own pace, plus practical micro-teaching and (for physical intervention) a classroom attendance element.
This qualification is completed fully self-paced online, allowing you to study around work and other commitments. You will complete written, essay-style tasks and create practical training documents, such as a session plan and scheme of work. You will also deliver a 15-minute micro-teach and observe three micro-teaches delivered by other learners.
The Conflict Management course is also online and self-paced. You will complete a knowledge and understanding worksheet, produce delivery documents such as session plans and scenario briefs, and take part in a conflict management micro-teach. You will then sit an MCQ exam, which can be completed either:
The Physical Intervention course is mostly online and self-paced, but it includes a classroom practical element. The length of the classroom attendance depends on whether you are exempt from Unit 1.
?This structure gives you flexibility for the theory components while still ensuring you complete the practical coaching and assessed delivery required for conflict management and physical intervention.
Assessment is completed across all three qualifications through a mix of written work and practical delivery.
Because the SIA Instructor Package is mainly self-paced, the time it takes to complete will depend on how much time you can commit each week. Some learners move through quickly by submitting work regularly, while others prefer to spread the learning around work and other commitments.
Once you upload your work to the LMS, your assessor will normally provide feedback within 3–5 working days. In general, the more consistently you submit work, the faster you can progress and complete the package.
As a guide, most learners complete each part in the following timeframes:
These are average timescales, and your overall completion time may be shorter or longer depending on your pace, availability, and how quickly you submit evidence for assessment.
Although most of the SIA Trainer Course Package is self-paced, you are not left to figure it out on your own. You will have structured support throughout the programme so you can stay on track and submit work with confidence.
Support is available through:
You will also be supported with the practical parts of the package, including guidance on your micro-teach requirements and help understanding the steps for the Conflict Management MCQ exam and the Physical Intervention classroom days (including what to expect and how to prepare).
